Personal Injury Lawyer Provides College Scholarship for Law Students

According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, more than 1,000 people under age 25 die in car accidents every day. Students are faced with more distractions than ever while driving. Smart phones, GPS displays and other technology make it hard to focus on the road. Some cars come with safe-driving technology, but it’s not yet widespread. By the age of 18, students should be able to make responsible choices, but it’s not always easy. There is currently no statewide ban on texting while driving in Arizona, although Phoenix anti-texting legislation imposes fines on people who text while driving. DriveSafe.ly is a free mobile app that can be downloaded to students’ smartphones in order to read emails and texts aloud while they’re driving.

The UBER app allows students to easily hire a car to drive them anywhere at any time. When they create an account using a credit card, students don’t have to worry about having cash on hand in order to get a ride home. Even though there are constant warnings not to drive drunk, about 5 percent of Arizona’s car accidents are related to alcohol. In 2014, alcohol-related crashes killed 265 people and injured more than 3,100, as reported by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

While students focus on their studies, they shouldn’t have to be confronted with safety and financial challenges. According to American Bar Association, the average yearly tuition for a non-resident at a public school is over $35,000, and it’s pushing $40,000 for private law schools.
