Westfalia-Automotive ist stets um die Sicherheit ihrer Kunden und die korrekte Funktionsweise von nachgerüsteten Anhängevorrichtungen bemüht. Wenn ein Elektrosatz in ein Can-Bus vernetztes Fahrzeug eingebaut wird, muss das Fahrzeug eventuell auf Anhängerbetrieb codiert werden – im Westfalia-Automotive-Katalog weisen wir darauf mit einem „C“ bei den Elektrosatz-Produktdaten hin. Dies ist nicht der Fall, wenn die vom Gesetzgeber geforderten Mindestanforderungen (Beleuchtungsfunktionen, Blinküberwachung, Nebelschlussleuchten-Abschaltung) auch ohne Codierung erfüllt werden.
Allerdings sind viele Werkstätten bei der notwendigen Codierung auf Schwierigkeiten gestoßen, weil die Freischaltung mit üblichen Produkten nicht durchzuführen war und man deshalb Hilfe in der Vertragswerkstatt suchen musste. Westfalia-Automotive hat jetzt die Lösung: „Autocode“ (Art.-Nr.: 900001400199) ist ein Coding-tool mit dem die Werkstatt in wenigen Schritten eine geführte oder manuelle Codierung auf Anhängebetrieb veranlassen kann und so unabhängig von der Vertragswerkstatt ist. Dem Endkunden kann man so den kompletten Einbauservice inklusive der Codierung anbieten, so dass man sich klar vom Wettbewerb abgrenzen kann.
Die ACC-Codierung für beispielsweise den VW Passat B8 ist aktuell in der Funktion "Manuelle Codierung" möglich (ab BJ 11/2014). Darüber hinaus können zahlreiche weitere Fahrzeuge freigeschaltet werden.
Das Handgerät verfügt über einen OBD-Stecker und ein USB-Kabel zum Anschluss an einen PC um "Updates" der Software auf das Gerät überspielen zu können. Diese Aktualisierungen werden regelmäßig digital zur Verfügung gestellt, so dass neue Fahrzeuge schnell verfügbar sind. Die integrierte Batterie des Handgeräts sichert die Spannungsversorgung während des Codier Vorgangs. Geliefert wird das Autocode inklusive Betriebsanleitung im praktischen Hartschalenkoffer.
Das Codier Gerät ist ab März 2016 erhältlich und eine gute Alternative für Werkstätten, die unabhängig von der Vertragswerkstatt Fahrzeuge auf Anhängerbetrieb codieren möchten. Kompakt und einfach zu bedienen, kann das Tool über den Großhandel bestellt werden.
