Gregory Hoskins doesn’t just “tug” at the heart strings – he rips them out
Noted Canadian musicians take the stage with Gregory Hoskins, and record a live concert @ CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio November 29thToronto, ON, November 19, 2006 – Please join us for a first-ever and one-time-only live recording with Gregory Hoskins as he shares the stage with some of the country’s best and most daring musicians.
This special live concert recording offers a unique element: drawing from 5 recordings worth of material, the evening will include half the program arranged for strings, courtesy of international award winning composer Jonathan Goldsmith. Not happy to tread where others have gone before; Goldsmith has written arrangements for 2 distinct quartets operating as separate identities on stage, coming together only occasionally. The result is a highly innovative, intoxicating high wire act.
Arguably one of the most unique musical performances of the year, please join us and be part of this very exciting and entertaining evening. This event is not to be missed.

About Gregory Hoskins: Since his days on True North Records as front-man for Gregory Hoskins and The Stickpeople, Hoskins has been a Canadian recording artist happy to exist under the radar and he’s content to stay there. Why? Because it’s cooler there. While he has charted with singles and videos, he’s much more impressed by the relationship that audiences, old and new, form with the songs he writes. He’s even more impressed, and incredibly humbled by, the level of players he has been able to attract to perform with him on record and stage. As Canadian music industry luminary Richard Flohil described him, “He is a dramatically re-emerging Canadian talent...”
Gregory Hoskins is an artist hitting his stride – causing fans to sing praises such like: “What a treat. FABULOUS. Blisteringly blissful. “– LSB; and “To say that I was blown away is a huge understatement. Your songs did 'that thing' to me - you know - shivers, amen's, and neck hairs standing up. Thank you.” – SF.
