3d-printed luminaire XMOOVE launched at light + building in Frankfurt

Bonn/Frankfurt, 16 March 2016. Licht³, the Bonn-located specialists in lighting systems and lighting design, have presented XMOOVE at light + building in Frankfurt/Germany and launched a campaign on kickstarter.com. With XMOOVE a 3d-printed, flexible and personalisable product family comprising desk and pendant luminaires is entering the market.

XMOOVE is ready for personalization. The pendant lamp has 20 surfaces to design, the desk lamp 8. Personal messages, love poems, single words or just company logos or slogans can be placed on these surface.

XMOOVE is made by laser sintering, which permits fabrication of a pre-drilled unit complete with working joints and cable conduits in a single operation. The luminaire housing is created layer by layer, using laser technology to use particles of a high-tech polyamide powder. The distinguishing features of this material include long-term stability, resistance to wear, light-weight construction and translucency. The high-quality printing operation and the assembly of the LED boards take place in Germany.
