Legendary Post-Punk Band Starving Artists Re-Releases Classic

NORFOLK, VA - October 17, 2023 - Starving Artists, the legendary post-punk band from Norfolk, Virginia, is proud to announce the release of their classic song "Acid Rain" on all the major streaming platforms. The band, which consisted of Bert Kerr (vocals), Ralph M. Gerth IV (guitars), George Rogic (bass), and Rick Murphy (drums), recorded the song at Secret Society Studios in New York during the sessions for their 1986 EP Starving Artists. The song has been remixed and remastered for digital distribution and is available today on Apple Music, Spotify, Bandcamp, and other services.

Released on Vince Records, Starving Artists is a rare and sought-after collector's item, featuring six tracks of the band's signature blend of post-punk and alternative rock. "Acid Rain" is the first song from the EP to be re-released, with additional tracks to follow in the coming months.

From 1985-1988 Starving Artists performed over 175 shows throughout the mid-Atlantic states, including iconic venues of the era such as CBGB and the 9:30 Club. They opened for several 'national acts' such as Lords of the New Church, Modern English, Circle Jerks, and The Fleshtones. Additionally, the group shared gigs with many notable regional bands like Guadalcanal Diary and The Connells.
