Wake Forest Alano Club Announces Capital Campaign Kickoff

The Wake Forest Alano Club, a pillar of support for individuals battling addiction, is excited to announce the kickoff of its Capital Campaign to raise donations that will ensure the continued operation of its clubhouse. In operation since 2007 and at its current address since 2015, this vital facility has been a lifeline for countless individuals seeking recovery and hope in Wake Forest, Youngsville, Rolesville and the surrounding communities..

The Capital Campaign aims to raise $200,000 to pay down our mortgage interest and establish an emergency fiscal reserve. Having been hit hard by the recent pandemic and a rocketing interest rate, the Capital Campaign seeks to counteract these costs so the club may remain open for years to come.

"The Wake Forest Alano Club has been a haven for individuals seeking recovery from addiction and a place where self-help groups find strength in community. We cannot underscore the importance of maintaining this sanctuary for healing and growth" said a Wake Forest Alano member, "The campaign is a plea to our community, a call to action, to ensure that these doors remain open for those who are battling addiction and seeking a path to recovery."

We will also host an in-person information session on October 14th at 932 S Cross St in Youngsville from 1-4p. The club was founded in 2007 by a group of individuals in Wake Forest who were seeking support on their journeys of battling addiction and alcoholism. Continuing to grow over the following years, it gained non-profit status in 2008 and had various homes in Wake Forest as membership climbed. In 2015, it purchased its permanent home at 932 S Cross St in Youngsville.

Today, the Wake Forest Alano Club is comprised of compassionate individuals who are dedicated to recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Having successfully faced these challenges, our members are committed to helping others in the community who still suffer. Generously sharing their experience, strength, and hope through a network of 12-step meetings, our members reach out a helping hand to those who have nowhere else to turn.

Its primary purpose is to provide a safe space for alcoholics, addicts, and other 12-step programs to meet. In doing so, it offers recovery assistance to those who suffer from addiction and support to their friends and family.

Today, the WAC offers over a dozen weekly 12-step recovery meetings to Wake Forest, Youngsville, Rolesville and the surrounding communities.
