Qatar boasts an extensive road network, encompassing a staggering 7,733 kilometers of public roadways. This network features 100 grade-separated interchanges, 300 signalized intersections, and 500 roundabouts, enhancing the country's connectivity. Within this framework, 132km of truck routes, namely the Orbital Expressways C2, C3, and C4, have been strategically established. Trucks play a vital role in Qatar's transportation landscape, constituting approximately 8% of the registered vehicles. Daily, there are around 288,000 truck trips traversing the network, with 166,000 Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) trips recorded. Interestingly, 83% of these truck movements originate within the central Doha zones. However, it's noteworthy that 60% of road traffic accidents in Qatar occur at night. Alarmingly, in 70% of these accidents involving Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), the drivers of such vehicles were found to be at fault.
