German Firm, MAG & More Unveils New Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Academy
Munich, Germany--Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a medical procedure that is used by therapists to control depression and other neurologic and psychiatric disorders through the use of magnetic fields in order to stimulate the nerve cells of the brain. Electromagnetic coils are placed gently against the scalp as it meets the forehead, so that emitted magnetic pulses can influence the brain regions that control mood. MAG & More has been developing TMS devices for over a decade, specializing entirely in the research, development and manufacturing of cutting-edge technologies and products in the field of neurostimulation. Based on over 20 years of experience, MAG & More now wishes to significantly improve the quality of life for patients suffering from various neurological and psychiatric illnesses by training doctors, researchers, nurses, technical assistants and other health care providers in the use of these devices through their new academy.“Prestigious institutes around the world have adopted this technology because of its immense potential as an alternative therapy with few side effects,” says managing director Christian Hirschbeck. “Now, it is not so much an issue of having people recognize the technology's value, but training people in the appropriate usage of the devices. This is why we have initiated a new training program and want to promote it to healthcare providers and others of complementary medical backgrounds.”
The TMS-Academy is an integral part of training TMS users and TMS interested physicians. Conducted under the lead of highly experienced specialists the academy offers different courses covering both the newest developments in the treatment, as well as the latest research topics of non-invasive brain stimulation. Finding efficient and simple routines for daily investigation and therapy sessions is important for every type of practice. The academy seeks to help practitioners learn non-invasive modalities of treatment, as well as care for and tend to equipment involved in TMS usage. The emphasis of the training programs lie in the practical application and the efficient use of TMS devices.
“We believe that these training platforms are essential so that every TMS user understands how to apply TMS effectively and safely,” says Hirschbeck. “Our academy equips you with this necessary know-how.”
