Asseco Group Poland's Hospital ERP Infomedica migrated from Gupta to .NET without rewriting

Frankfurt/Rödermark, August 29, 2023. The leading application modernization specialist fecher announces the successful migration of the Hospital ERP system, Infomedica, from Gupta to .NET. The software solution is provided by Asseco Group, one of Europe's leading software companies with over 32,000 employees and a presence in 60 countries. Originally developed in Gupta over 20 years ago, it is now used by over 75,000 users across Poland. A porting project by fecher brought the extensive functionality developed over the years into the modern environment without any losses.

The challenge was to transition the long-standing and comprehensive functionality of Infomedica into current technology to enable future developments. Choosing the .NET platform provided the opportunity to shift the solution towards a business process view, enable functional enhancements, and attract new developers to the project. For the porting of the entire software, which consists of approximately 4.6 million lines of code and 40 applications, a fixed-price offer with a guaranteed delivery date was provided. In addition to the application code, the project also included migrating over 4,500 screen masks and more than 600 reports.

After careful planning, fecher successfully transferred the existing code step by step to the .NET environment using highly specialized porting tools and manual adjustments. Weekly coordination meetings via video conference between the fecher and Asseco teams facilitated smooth information exchange and efficient solutions to emerging questions.

Upon project completion, fecher provided support for the finalization of the code, which was carried out by the Asseco team as agreed, allowing the porting to be successfully completed as planned after 26 months.
