DEAR GOSEI, a debut novel written by Jorge Bosch, brings a fresh perspective on coming of age and accepting sexuality. Two central themes steer the narrative: Sexual abuse, as real as life itself, and a controversial subject treated with sensitivity and kindness, and the protagonist personal development, as he seeks to deal with the truth about what happened to him. DEAR GOSEI recounts the protagonist's transformation from a confused, weak, characterless person to a bright young man struggling to clear up past events and ask for accountability and forgiveness from those who abused him, physically and mentally.

The book captivates the reader with its well-grounded and vividly portrayed characters, participants in a story that will keep them interested until the end, not only LGBT fiction readers but also fans of family sagas, romantic stories and psychological dramas. The novel takes place at two points in the protagonist's life: firstly, when the protagonist is molested as a young boy and then when he finally decides to take charge of his life and confront his family 12 years later. It is a fast-paced, minimalist, story set in the capital of Southern California, and takes a critical view of the traditional and old-fashioned family it portrays.

"At several times in my life, I started several novels and scripts but never finished them because I lacked inspiration and commitment. But this time, it was different. I wrote DEAR GOSEI during the pandemic. I was isolated at home, like everyone else. I got anxious and felt awkward due to the lack of social contact so I started writing as a form of liberation, and inspiration came to me."

Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, in a typical large Catholic family, traditional but tolerant. I am an incurable reader and I am passionate about movies, swimming, and learning new languages. I have started at least 5 novels or film scripts but DEAR GOSEI is my first book. I worked briefly as a journalist on Catalan television (TV3) and German foreign radio (Deutsche Welle). In 2000, I founded the first online-only LGBTQ bookstore in Spain. However, I have spent the vast majority of my professional life in film post-production and distribution. A few years ago, I moved with my life partner to Los Angeles, USA.
