YOUNG CESAR NOMINATED FOR 6 AWARDS AT THE AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL

LOS ANGELES– American World Pictures (AWP), a prolific high-profile force in the international marketplace, is proud to announce that Young Cesar, which will be featured at the American Film Market 2007, was nominated for six awards at the upcoming American Black Film Festival.
The American Black Film Festival, www.abff.com, has nominated Young Cesar in the following categories. The Heineken Red Star Award, Grand Jury Prize for Best Screenplay (Fitzgerald Scott), Grand Jury Prize for Best Actor (Dominic Daniel), Grand Jury Prize for Best Director (Sheldon Candis), Grand Jury Prize for Best Picture, and the Audience Award for Best U.S. Feature.
In this urban thriller, Young Cesar is the story of Ali Dean (Clifton Powell) and his demise as a father to his two sons Cesar (Dominic Daniel) and Tariq (Sam Sarpong).Ali is sentenced to a life behind bars for a vicious murder during a botched robbery attempt on The Dean family in the 80's. , Behind bars and unable to guide his sons through the perils of the rough streets they grow up in, Ali sits helplessly as he watches Cesar become trapped within the growing and lucrative drug trade. The story quickly speeds full circle as Ali is ultimately released from prison the very same day his eldest son Cesar starts his own life sentence.
