FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Elijah McKenzie-Jackson, also known as EMJ, has unveiled his latest artwork, "Bloody Nostalgia". After 24 hours of launch, this art piece has garnered over 300,000 views in collaboration with @Femist whom are followed by the likes of Camilla Cabello and Finneas.

This digital piece delves into the historical roots of colonialism during the Pocahontas era, shedding light on the tragic atrocities suffered by Native Americans and Indigenous people."Bloody Nostalgia" is a reinterpretation of a classic illustration of Pocahontas, known for her symbolic significance and portrayal in popular culture.

EMJ explores the historical context, bringing attention to the dark reality of scalping, a brutal form of torture that caused immense harm to Native Americans and Indigenous individuals during that period. The artwork serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of colonialism and the profound wounds inflicted upon these communities. EMJ skillfully combines symbolism, vivid imagery, and meticulous attention to detail to convey the pain, loss, and resilience of those who suffered under colonial rule.

"Bloody Nostalgia invites viewers to confront uncomfortable truths about our shared history and reassess the narratives that have shaped our understanding of the past. The artwork encourages introspection and dialogue, fostering a more nuanced understanding of the enduring effects of colonialism on marginalized communities. I want people to react and feel provoked… that is the point."
