National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is actively promoting cyber security in October as part of a month-long initiative and Comodo is participating by offering free desktop security solutions

Comodo a leading security company announced today that it is participating with the National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) to support National Cyber Security Awareness Month. This effort is a national campaign focused on educating the American public, businesses, schools, and government agencies on ways to secure their computers against all forms of online threats and is an important initiative that helps protect people from malware and other online threats that undermine online security.

The goal of National Cyber Security Awareness Month is to educate everyday Internet users on how to "Protect Yourself Before You Connect Yourself", by taking simple and effective steps. These steps teach Internet users how to safeguard one's computer from the latest online threats and offers advice on responding to potential cyber-crime incidents. One important component of safe computing includes using prevention security software such as Comodo's free suite of security products.
