With cyber threats becoming more complex and indefinite, businesses have to keep up with innovative cyber security applications. No longer just an IT priority, the awareness regarding cyber securitycontinues to grow, with the top management and business owners realising the catastrophic implications of a cyber attack. For the 2nd consecutive year, Fleming Gulf will organise the Kingdom Cyber Security knowledge sharing workshop in Riyadh gathering stakeholders on a collaborative platform to address key concerns. As Gold Sponsor of the workshop, Raytheon Company will address event delegates on information assurance and good governance. Raytheon recently commissioned the 2015 Global Mega trends in Cyber security study (www.raytheon.com/cyber mega trends) that asked this question to CIOs, CISOs and information securityleaders in multiple sectors. The results indicate that cyber crime is our clients’ number one concern and it’s what keeps them up at night. Looking at it regionally, the survey also indicates that the most prevalent types of Cyber threats in the MENA region in the next 3 years are expected to be; attacks using zero-day or previouslyunknown cyber exploits , socially engineered phishing attacks ,malware that targets mobile devices ,cloud
data leakage and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks”
Raytheon Company, with 2014 sales of $23 billion and 61,000 employees worldwide, is a technology and innovation leader specialising in defence, security and civil markets throughout the world. Bill further explained that big data, forensics and intelligence based cyber solutions are gaining popularity. "The technologies that will gain the most in importance over the next 3 years are encryption for data at rest, big data
analytics, SIEM and cyber security intelligence, automated forensics tools, encryption for data in motion, next
generation firewalls, web application firewalls, threat intelligence feeds and sandboxing or isolation tools.", he
elaborated.
Speaking about their participation in the upcoming conference, Bill expressed their desire to help and assist organisations who have tough cyber security challenges so they can operate with confidence in cyber space. “Attendees will benefit from broader awareness of the cyber security risks and solutions available to them. All the cyber leaders attending share the mutual goal of protecting Kingdom’s companies and government systems, so they should use this event to network and build strong personal relationships which will help especially if they find themselves in a cyber crisis.”, he said.
