At the Digital Media Breakfast by Adobe and arvato Systems in Munich on April 14, participants were presented the profound changes in the publishing industry as well as the successful design of new digital business models.
The media world is in the midst of a radical transformation. Digitalization presents a challenge to current business models – and at the same time offers new possibilities. Adobe and arvato Systems shed some light on these issues in a joint presentation on April 14 at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel Kempinski in Munich. About 50 participants from renowned publishers followed the presentations on specific success methods for new digital sales channels.
The focus of the media event was the importance of IT on the pathway to the successful digital transformation of newspaper and magazine publishers. Not only did this involve more efficient editorial processes that allow content to be delivered across all channels, but also the presence of new media such as apps or "gamification" features for the monetization of content and new reader services. Measures to ensure end-user loyalty or cross-channel product offers, as they are known from the marketing requirements of brands and manufacturers, were highlighted in this context several times as highly critical factors for success.
With combined marketing and media know-how, the experts from Adobe and arvato Systems used a live demonstration to showcase software solutions that support publishers in addressing these challenges – using flexible, fast workflows and the integration of reader feedback for personalized end-user experiences. Guest speakers from the publishing industry, Cassini Consulting and the mattheis.Werbeagentur completed the program and presented best practice examples. During the subsequent networking session, the participants were able to get to know each other personally and exchange ideas and opinions.
