NEW YORK, June 1 - Kitchen Sink Theatre Company (Katie Royse Ginther, Artistic Director) in collaboration with Frigid NYC (Erez Ziv, Managing Director; Martha Lorena Preve, Co Artistic Director; Jimmy Lovett, Co Artistic Director) presents Poster Child by Ozzy Dickson, a new play about the transmasc nonbinary experience, directed by Katie Royse Ginther and starring Dickson. Previously premiering as a workshop at Long Island University Brooklyn under Dickson's direction, Poster Child will make its professional NYC debut this July, starring Dickson alongside TikTok sensation Grace Mitscherlich. The stage production marks Royse Ginther's first production in New York City, after relocating her successful Kitchen Sink Theater Company from Seattle, WA. The production is slated for a very limited run with evening performances on July 7 and 8 at 7PM, with live streaming available on July 8, and has the potential to extend through the month of July.

Poster Child is a 90 minute stage play that brings a voice to the nonbinary transmasculine person, focusing on Finn and his personal journey transitioning and how that transition affects those around him, which in turn, cyclically affects him and his decisions, and so on, and so on, with themes involving friendship, loss, love, self-acceptance, and above all else - transitioning to a new phase in life. Directed by Stage Directors and Choreographers (SDC) Initiative Fellowship Recipient Katie Royse Ginther, Poster Child uses authenticity and lived-in experiences to display dynamic relationships amongst old friends, and their different worlds becoming intertwined.

The complete cast of Poster Child includes Ozzy Dickson (Finn), Samekh Resh (Wyatt), Grace Mitscherlich (Liza), and Levi Collins (Danny).

The production features scenic design by Monica Sinaloa; costume design by Katie Royse Ginther; lighting design by Geoffrey Kinsey-Christopher; and sound design by Em Hausmann. Melanie Ashby serves as production stage manager, and Em Hausmann serves as associate director and marketing partner. Rounding out the team are Katie Royse Ginther as lead producer, Izy Taylor as producer, and Garrett Bailey as producer.

In addition to Poster Child, Kitchen Sink Theatre Company recently produced its first event in New York City with a successful 48 Hour Play Festival, which was co-produced by the Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre. Kitchen Sink, which recently relocated from Seattle, Washington, continues its inaugural New York City season with the upcoming production of Silly by Jake Fallon, in collaboration with Brazen Light Theatre Company. Following will be 54 Sings Diana, a comedic tribute to Diana: the musical, which will perform this summer.

ABOUT KITCHEN SINK THEATRE COMPANY:
Kitchen Sink Theatre Company was founded by Katie Royse Ginther and Audrey Andrews in 2021, when the two decided to produce a performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with members of the community in Seattle, WA. With the help of community fundraisers and general donations, four performances of Rocky Horror took place at The Fairhaven Firehouse Event Center in Bellingham, WA, with a set created by Andrews and members of The Sylvia Center for the Arts (Now New Prospect Theatre). After Rocky Horror's large following, Royse Ginther decided to produce and direct another project in Bellingham, this time out of The Sylvia Center for the Arts. Good Water, written by Jessica Moreland, is now a nationally acclaimed play that received recognition from The Kennedy Center in 2022 for being an outstanding new play that best represented the voice of the writer. Good Water reached an entirely new population of theatre-lovers in the Bellingham and Seattle area, inspiring Royse Ginther to put on a summer stock season in partnership with The Sylvia Center. From there, Kitchen Sink's following continued to grow, inspiring Royse Ginther to take it with her to New York City. Kitchen Sink Theatre Company makes space for artists in the community to experiment with their own creativity, and strives to make a space that supports members of the community who have a passion for creating their own reality onstage (thus their slogan, Theatre for the community, by the community.). That includes actors, playwrights, technical theater creators, directors, and designers. kitchensinktheatrecompany.com @kitchensinktheatrecompany

ABOUT FRIGID NYC:
FRIGID New York's mission is to provide both emerging and established artists the opportunity to create and produce original work and to amplify their diverse voices. We do this by presenting an array of monthly programming, mainstage productions, an artist residency, and eight annual theater festivals that create an environment of collaboration, resourcefulness, and innovation. Founded in 1998 as Horse Trade, the aim was and is to form a structure, allowing multiple artists to focus on creating and staging new work and providing production support and affordable rental space to scores of Independent artists. Now in our 25th season, we have produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater.

In 1999, the Resident Program was created. Now in its 21st year, this program offers an artistic home to a select group of Indie Theater Artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy while focusing on their individuality as independent companies. Based on each company's distinct needs, this program provides tangible support through rehearsal & performance space, as well as consulting, administrative, marketing, and artistic assistance.

The Resident Program has provided a platform for many new playwrights to be published and produced nationally and internationally. Resident Alumni have gone on to tour all over multiple continents, are currently writing and acting on dozens of TV shows and movies, have been nominated for TONYs and OBIEs, and have won countless NYIT Awards.

In 2006, we were proudly accepted into the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals, and FRIGID Festival was born. FRIGID Festival, the first festival of its kind in New York City, is a winter Fringe festival and is an entirely open and uncensored Indie theater festival, in which the artists keep 100% of their earnings.

More festivals followed, including Gotham Storytelling Festival, FunnYmmigrants, The Fire This Time Festival (OBIE Award Winner), EstroGenius, Queerly, and Shakesolo.

Today we welcome over 16,000 audience members a year, house hundreds of artists, net close to $200,000 in box office receipts, produce eight different festivals, support six resident companies, feature two dozen monthly shows, service Unit 4 at Manhattan Correctional Center, and much more.
