Why has the Leybato Beach Hotel been an insider tip for vacationers from Europe for decades?
The Gambia is a country in western Africa, located on the Atlantic coast and surrounded by its large neighbor Senegal. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land surrounding the Gambia River. The land is flat and dominated by the Gambia River, which is navigable the entire length of the country. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land surrounding the Gambia River. The land is flat and dominated by the Gambia River, which is navigable the entire length of the country. And the Gambia River looks stunningly beautiful, is partly pristine and partly looks like it did in the 19th century. In the following article are some more images to see from the Gambia River:

Almost 100 km of mostly beautiful Atlantic beaches are one of the reasons why Europeans like and visit the smallest country in Africa, but also a friendly population and a - compared to other African countries - low crime rate are among the country's advantages. Last but not least, the mostly nice and warm weather is a good reason to visit Gambia for a few weeks or even months. From November to June it is dry and warm and even in the "rainy season" from July to October there are nice periods without rain showers.
The landscapes along the Gambia River are breathtaking and nature offers wonderful experiences. For example, it is possible to make excursions from the Leybato Beach Hotel into the interior of the country, for example to Georgetown. There, vacationers will experience Africa as it is unlikely to be found in 2023....
JUICERY
The juice vendor of the Leybato Beach Hotel has been known for over 20 years and provides guests of the rather simple, but very familiar beach hotel with delicious and freshly squeezed juices. And juices here in West Africa are very tasty!
LEYBATO'S UNIQUE BEACH LOCATION AND VERY GOOD LEYBATO RESTAURANT ARE A VERY GOOD REASON TO VACATION IN GAMBIA
In the beginning, it was just a fish grill stand offering grilled fish. But with more guests and success, the business grew surprisingly fast and ... the Leybato Beach Hotel and Leybato Restaurant terrace quickly became a tourist favorite. Breathtaking sunsets, very good food in the Leybato Restaurant and more and more repeaters from the UK, the Netherlands, Scandinavian countries and especially Austria, Germany and Switzerland showed em concept a beautiful Gambian hospitality concept with the unique selling point of being located on one of the best beaches in West Africa...
The cozy Leybato Beach Hotel with its now 17 rooms and cute round huts was founded 40 years ago by the current General Manager Mr. Saihou Demba. The small beach hotel is perfectly located on one of the most beautiful beaches in The Gambia. It is located in the famous Fajara area, 5 km from Banjul, the central capital of The Gambia.
CATERING WAS FOR YEARS THE MAIN ACTIVITY OF LEYBATO
More and more customers of Mr. Demba's snack bar asked for nice but not expensive beach accommodations. So he soon offered a couple of pretty round cabins for guests. Because of the stunning views of the beaches, they were almost always fully booked and provided a new line of business for Mr. Demba's family and staff, who lived near Leybato.
LEYBATO'S GREEN GARDEN WITH MANY BIRDS - GUESTS LOVED(T)IT FROM THE FIRST DAY
Mango trees, cashew trees, coconut trees, the characteristic baobab trees, acacias, casuarinas - and birds feel at home in this little paradise on the beaches of Fajara....
SAFE BEACH DIRECTLY AT LEYBATO BEACH - PERFECT HOTSPOT FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS AND WATER SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS
The usually very calm and mild Mid-Atlantic is warm enough for swimming all year round. Whether in July or in December - the temperatures in The Gambia always invite to surf or sunbathe.
WHAT HAS BEEN ATTRACTING VACATIONERS FROM EUROPE TO LEYBATO BEACH HOTEL AND WEST AFRICA FOR DECADES?
The great sandy beach, km long and excellent as a jogging or swimming paradise. The usually very calm and mild mid-Atlantic, the warm Atlantic and air temperatures , no matter if in July or December - the temperatures invite to swim and splash in Gambia and Leybato. The children can let off steam and do so safely. The food is good. The beach of the hotel is one of the most beautiful in West Africa, long and shallow.
IS HOLIDAYS AT LEYBATO EXPENSIVE?
Finally, a few words about the cost of travel to West Africa.... If you compare it with other beach hotels not. Prices in Leybato Beach Hotel are affordable, here a three-week Gambia vacation costs no more than 1500 to 1700 US Dollars ... including flight, if the clever Brit, Swede or Dutchman books a little smartly in advance. However: Airfares are currently higher than in previous years, partly due to reduced flight offers to West Africa from Europe.
??AIRFARES CURRENTLY THE BIGGEST COST DRIVER
To fly cheaper from Europe to The Gambia, vacationers should book their flight from Brussels, Amsterdam or London to Banjul around 17 weeks in advance. According to market observations, this is the most favorable time and then Gambia travelers can really save hundreds of pounds.
WHAT IS HINDERING MORE SUCCESS FOR THE GAMBIA TRAVEL INDUSTRY?
More competition in the flight offers would also do the Gambia flights - price development good, currently there are only a few direct flights to Banjul from Europe and booked at short notice, they are currently significantly more expensive than in the past.
If the airfares continue to rise, Europeans will choose cheaper destinations. And those who would suffer would be the employees and workers in the hotels, restaurants and similar jobs, because the tourism industry is one of the biggest job engines in the smallest country in Africa.
CONCLUSION:
The bottom line is that Leybato Beach Hotel and Gambia are definitely worth a visit. The cozy hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but it makes up for it with the wonderful ambiance and good food at the Leybato Restaurant with a great terrace and view of the gorgeous sea. It is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in West Africa.... The price-performance ratio fits and the location can be called spectacular...
Welcome to the Gambia soon...
