Dubai, UAE, December 14, 2014 – Cisco today announced that it is organising an IT Security seminar titled ‘Security Beyond Traditional Defenses’ for its customers on December 15, 2014 at The Conrad Dubai. Addressing the evolving cyber security threat landscape, senior executives from the company will highlight the importance of next-generation security solutions from Cisco that deliver advanced threat protection across the entire attack continuum before, during, and after an attack. Cisco will also unveil Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services - the industry’s first and only adaptive, threat-focused Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) for its UAE customers at the event.

“Cyber security threats are growing even more sophisticated and organisations are working harder to protect their IT systems against attacks in a fast-changing threat landscape. The potential threat of cyber attacks in the Middle East has also seen a steep rise making regional enterprises susceptible to these attacks. Increasingly regional organisations know that it is not a question of if they are attacked, but when they are attacked. Now more than ever, they need to be able to implement dynamic controls to manage the pace of change of their environments and address security incidents,” says Anthony Perridge, Security Sales Director, Cisco.

“Our seminar titled ‘Security Beyond Traditional Defenses’ will address the ever-changing threat landscape and highlight next-generation security solutions from Cisco that deliver advanced threat protection across the entire attack continuum before, during, and after an attack. Through presentations and live policy and attack demos, we plan to demonstrate how Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services provides that integrated threat defense that truly helps businesses address their biggest security risk — advanced and zero day threats,” Mr. Perridge adds.

At the event, Cisco will explore the Cisco approach to cybersecurity that is visibility driven, threat focused, and platform based; perform live policy and attack demos that illustrate solutions to real-world problems across multiple products, and illustrate tools that enable a before, during, and after security solution in action.

Cisco will also introduce Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services, a new, adaptive, threat-focused NGFW, which empowers customers to deepen their protection from the data center, to the network, to the endpoint with the agility to identify, understand, and stop advanced threats in real-time and retrospectively.

The seminar will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on December 15, 2014 at The Conrad Dubai. Rabih Dabboussi, Managing Director, Cisco UAE will open the event followed by a keynote by Anthony Perridge, Security Sales Director, Cisco on the threat landscape.

Other presentations include ‘Cisco Security Strategy Overview’ by Andrew Cowley, Security Account Manager, Cisco, ‘Cyber threat Defence’ by Marcus Josefsson, Channel Sales Director, Lancope and a live demo on Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services by Mahmoud Rabi, Consulting Systems Engineer – Security, Cisco with discussions on the NSS Labs report findings.
