sellier and Implemens launch online community for lawyers

sellier. european law publishers has launched a virtual world for lawyers together with sellier/deGruyter (Berlin) and Implemens (Berlin) at law-net.eu on September 3rd, 2007. The platform enables lawyers to present themselves in a community with fields of legal interest as for example common law, private law, travel law and the like. The users can easily establish contact to new and former colleagues and fellow students, discuss recent topics in forums and present themselves with personal articles, documents and event announcements. Experts and authors of leading legal works are often only a mouse click away. law-net.eu offers abundant network functionalities: The members are able to see how they are connected to others, they can find contacts with similar interest and contact them directly over an integrated instant messenger. Thus every user remains in control over his/ her personal data and determines how much he/ she wants to reveal. The members have an up-to-date contact book as everybody maintains his/ her personal data – the birthday of the contacts is shown automatically as well.
Furthermore, law-net.eu offers the possibility to search in different online databases of the publishers Sellier/ deGruyter and s.elp. The display of the hit list is for free. Only when accessing the articles in the database the user has to pay. The user can decide between purchasing daily, weekly and yearly access rights.
An interest campaign promotes the start of the portal: Users that register before October 31st, 2007 can win a trip to Munich including a lunch at the publisher. The publisher himself will cook.
