SALVADOR – The fourth annual DISTREE Brazil & Latin America begins today in Salvador, Brazil. This year’s event unites technology and consumer electronics (CE) brands with senior executives and buyers from Latin America’s most influential retailers, e-tailers and distributors.

The number of participants has increased 26% year-on-year, reflecting the growing reputation of the annual event as an effective business platform for brands looking to manage, build or launch volume routes-to-market across Latin America.

DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014 is supported by Platinum Sponsor WD, Gold Sponsors Kensington and Manhattan, plus Silver Sponsors Energy Sistem and Multilaser. This year’s Event Partner is GfK with Samsung and Xerox as technical partners. Content Partners for DISTREE Brazil & Latin America include ABRADISTI, Advance Consulting, CONTEXT and GfK.

This week’s event gathers 350-plus delegates representing Latin America’s most influential channel partners, plus vendors from across the globe. In total, more than 180 companies are represented at DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014. The delegate list includes 110 retailer and e-tailer executives, 40 distributor executives, 150-plus vendor executives, as well as influential speakers, industry experts and media partners.

Tawfik Djafari, Regional Director for DISTREE Brazil & Latin America, said: “The DISTREE Events’ format is a better way of doing business, uniting all of the major stakeholders from the volume technology and CE channel together in one place at one time. More than 1,600 pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings between vendors and channel partners will give all delegates the opportunity to derive real business value from their participation at DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014.”

Each delegate has a unique personal agenda of one-on-one meetings. Using DISTREE Events’ powerful web platform, delegates can request and schedule one-on-one meetings in the weeks leading up to the event, accessing information on each participating company to ensure their personal agenda reflects their precise business needs.

DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014 also includes an extensive conference programme, including workshop sessions and summits run by Content Partners ABRADISTI, Advance Consulting, CONTEXT and GfK. Keynote speeches from GfK and WD, plus presentations from D-Link, Energy Sistem, Kensington and Multilaser will bring delegates up to speed on market trends and specific vendor strategies within the region.

The popular ‘60 Seconds to Convince’ awards also form part of the event agenda, giving vendors an opportunity to deliver a one-minute elevator pitch for their latest product on stage.

DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014 also plays host to the ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’. The fourth annual awards ceremony will recognise ICT and CE channel excellence. Hundreds of top retailers and distributors will vote live at a Gala Dinner on October 23rd to identify overall vendor winners across 15 separate categories.

A dedicated GfK Summit will also be held at DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014. The GfK Summit will give delegates the opportunity to access a range of expert-led presentations and interact with GfK’s local team of experts. GfK will focus on market and category trends and also provide information on its new GfK Supply Chain Management (SCM) Insights service.

Djafari continued: “There are significant growth opportunities for brands that build strong and sustainable routes-to-market in Latin America. We are also witnessing growing demand for products in emerging categories such as wearables and connected devices.”

“DISTREE Brazil & Latin America is fully committed to driving the growth and development of a strong regional channel community, uniting vendors, distributors, retailers and e-tailers, and creating sustainable and healthy channel partnerships,” he concluded.
