High School Dropout Turned Business Tycoon

Sidney Kile's story is one of determination, perseverance, and a burning white-hot desire to succeed, from a high school dropout to a self-made business tycoon. Many in Kansas City know where Sidney is today, but few understand where he came from. Kile was born in a Texas state penitentiary where he and his mother were enrolled in a program called M.I.N.T (mothers & infants together). That prison is where he spent the first six months of his life with her after his father had been sentenced to serve a triple life sentence elsewhere. Afterward, he and his mother went to live with his grandmother in the suburbs of Kansas City, where those who know her affectionately refer to her as "grandma Patty." Although they were blessed with their new family unit and home that was always full of love and support, they were not without their fair share of hardships. The family was often faced with financial struggles. He recalls with brisk clarity the moment he decided that he needed to make something of himself,

"I remember it was my freshman year of high school, and this girl that I had a massive crush on asked me to homecoming and of course I accepted. I asked my mom if she would buy me new clothes so I could go to the dance and my mom tried really hard but we just couldn't afford it at the time. I remember wearing this handed down plaid button up shirt that was about three sizes too big for me, some second hand military cargo pants as dress pants and a pair of sneakers because they were the only shoes that fit me at the time. Everyone showed up to take pictures looking so nice and I was so embarrassed but I knew my mom was doing the best she could. That's when I decided I was fed up with us never having anything for ourselves and I wanted to change that, I needed to change that."

No one can question Sidney's resolve as he was often, even at a young age, seen as an unstoppable force. His business ventures began early when he was just 15 years old. Such ventures include but are not limited to a limo company, taxi company, lawn care services, web design, and lighting systems company. Most of his adolescent business pursuits failed within the first two years. These business attempts detracted from Sidney's academic engagement and eventually led him to drop out of school to fully focus on his career. With his iron will, he was not prepared to let any setbacks be the end of his journey. Sidney Kile would someday be a household name in his community. At nineteen, he began the endeavor that would eventually be the catalyst to his rapidly growing success; he began creating the S.K. brand.

Today Sidney owns six different businesses in the Kansas City area. And he has extended the S.K. brand to include SK Security, SK Automotive, SK Cuts, and SK Shaved ice, all of which were self-funded. With no money, formal education, and no father, Kile has established over ten different businesses. Furthermore, he has had his hand in many others assisting their founders in accomplishing their goals. And all this before the age of 25. He attributes the majority of his success to the support of his mother and grandmother. He looks forward to seeing how he can continue serving his community while growing his operations to a national level.
