DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2014 will host the ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’ as part of this year’s event agenda. During a Gala Dinner on the evening of Thursday October 23rd at the Iberostar Bahia Hotel in Salvador, Brazil, hundreds of the region’s leading channel partners will use a live electronic voting system to crown an overall winner in each product category covered.

Tawfik Djafari, Regional Director for DISTREE Brazil & Latin America, said: “During the last month, hundreds of senior executives from the region’s leading technology and electronics retailers and distributors have submitted confidential forms to determine which vendors receive official nominations for the awards.”

In total, 47 separate brands received official nominations with 10 of these named in multiple categories. The full list of nominated vendors for the ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’ (in alphabetical order by category) is as follows:

“The ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’ are a celebration of the ongoing success of the region’s technology and consumer electronics channel as it drives sales and increases customer reach across the region. Every nominated brand should be congratulated and recognised as a top five player in the category or categories they appear in,” added Djafari.

Channel partners were instructed to nominate companies based on the quality and strength of their overall Latin American channel engagement and business model, not just on sales volumes achieved in the region.

“These are independent neutral awards where Latin America’s retailers, e-tailers and distributors recognise the contribution of leading brands to the development of the region’s consumer channel. Hundreds of Latin America’s most influential distribution and retail executives will attend this year’s Gala Dinner. Representatives from all the nominated brands will be invited to join them at this prestigious annual channel gathering,” concluded Djafari.

The ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’, organised by DISTREE Events, form part of a global series of channel awards, which also cover Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The annual awards for the Latin American market were launched in 2011 and are taking place for the fourth consecutive year in 2014.

Please note that Apple is removed from the final list of nominated brands for the ‘LatAm Channel Academy: 2014 Awards’ due to its current go-to-market model, which makes it inappropriate to include Apple in a live electronic vote open to all channel partners.
