World Drummers' Day 2023: 10 Years Anniversary on April 04th - (a non-commercial project)

On tuesday, April 04th, 2023, will be the 10th anniversary oft he World Drummers' Day. We want to establish a day of glory for all drummers and percussionists all over the world, yearly on 04th April, and we have already made a good progress to achieve some goals. Especially in Germany - where the WDD has been proclaimed by the drummer and drum teacher, Christian Schages-, in German-speaking countries, and in other countries in Europe, the feedback is already good and the press, newspapers, radio stations and drum magazines reports recently about the World Drummers' Day.

Even the German, Austrian and African television already reported about the World Drummers' Day, or the "Weltschlagzeugertag", the German word for the WDD. After ten years, we are not finished yet, and we need more and more supporters world wide, and journalists, who report about this project, and this it, what this press release was made for.

What ist he idea oft the World Drummers' Day?
When Christian Schages started his business as a professional drum teacher with his own drum school in Germany in 2012, he became aware again, that his students have a lot to know and to learn very much, to become good drummers. On stage, drummers often cannot be seen very good by the audience, because they are sitting and acting in the second line behind the other band members, although they have to do a very good and important job within a band. Drummers must hold the band and the rhythm together, what is the "heartbeat of music". That is why Christian Schages decided to proclaim the World Drummers' Day in 2013.

Why has 04 April been chosen for the World Drummers' Day?
The date oft he WDD should not be the birthday or the day of death of a famous drummer, the idea was to find a general date, every drummer would accept. So, 04 April stands fort he propably most-played 4/4-tact and this should be a date, every drummer and musician can remember easily.

Who can support the World Drummers' Day and how?
You can support the WDD by sharing a (drum) picture or clip on social media, like twitter, facebook, instagram or youtube, where you also may find the World Drummers' Day and where you can become a part of our growing community there. Tell your friends, musicians or drummers you know about the WDD, write a drum poem, draw a picture or do anything creative else online and please use the hashtag #WorldDrummersDay tob e found. We want to litter the internet with postings to reach as much people as we can.

What activities or are planed in 2023?
+ We want to meet online on social media.
+ In Africa will be again a WDD Drum Festival.
+ And you also may create your own private or public WDD event in your country, if you want. Public events should be admission free.
+ NEW: On the website of the World Drummers' s Day, you will find the first no-profit(!) fan-Shop with WDD-merchandise products, you can order from many countries all over the world. This shop has been opended to reach again more people, and to give our supporters a nice opportunity to identify even more with this project.
