Russell Bedford now ranked 12th in Mexico

Global professional services group Russell Bedford has seen its national Mexico network move up one place, from 13th to

12th, in the most recent International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) country survey.

Recording a growth rate of 11 per cent on 2013, with annual fee revenues now standing at MXN 221,900,000, Russell

Bedford Mexico’s higher rating reflects the addition of new affiliates, VGE Contadores y Asesores Fiscales, S. C. and

Organización Descom, S.C., to its national network in autumn 2013.

Russell Bedford Mexico is one of the country's leading full-service accounting organisations, serving private-sector

clients and government agencies.

The IAB report is published against a background of professional criticism of the government’s recent tax reforms,

cited by many commentators as having a negative impact for both domestic consumers and foreign investors. The

abolition of the Dictamen Fiscal, the mandatory tax audit required of all companies, is also viewed by some firms as

having direct implications for the accounting industry - a view Jorge Jiménez, president of Russell Bedford Mexico and

director of Russell Bedford International, disputes. “The government are to be commended in reducing the regulatory

burden on SMEs. Our own recent growth makes clear that this reform need have no impact on the accounting sector. Our

work is increasingly focused on supporting businesses in their cross-border operations – a trend we expect to continue,

with further growth in our own operations, over the next year.”

Russell Bedford International CEO Alan Bezzant commented: “Russell Bedford Mexico is one of our most dynamic national

networks, and it is gratifying to see its success recognised.”
