Thousands of women and girls around the world are invited to explore aviation and space career opportunities and experienced free Fly It Forward® flights in their local communities during the 13th annual Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week, March 6-12, 2023.

The Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide (iWOAW) who initiated the industry's outreach effort in 2010 to celebrate the March 8 anniversary of the world's first female pilot licence supports the events organized across the globe by industry employers and aviation enthusiasts with virtual resources, activities, information, and videos.

Throughout the Week, social media campaigns are set to highlight the struggles and celebrate the successes of past and present women of aviation. iWOAW is also sponsoring an annual Pink Paper Plane Challenge to engage and raise awareness within and outside the industry. This year, the Institute aims to establish a world record for Most Pink Paper Plane Locations.

To date, close to 500,000 women and girls have experienced aviation careers and activities, hands-on, across 53 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas by attending 1,915 WOAW events taking place at airports, factories, and museums. Pilots have shared their passion for flight with girls of all ages by conducting over 75,000 documented Fly It Forward® flights in airplanes, helicopters, gliders, ultralights, and balloons.

Everyone, regardless of age, nationality, race, and affiliation, is invited to take the Week's challenges, organize activities, and compete for the annual Fly It Forward® Awards.
