DUBLIN CITY , Republic of Ireland , European Union , EU , Europe - - (Independent Irish Humanitarian Press Release) - - Doctor Joseph Chikelue Obi (An Alternative Medicine Professor in Ireland) has publicly issued the following Condolence Statement concerning the recent events in Turkey (Turkiye) :

My Deepest Condolences are hereby duly tendered to the respective Governments (and Citizenry) of Turkey and Syria ; specifically in relation to a Series of Earthquakes (and After-Shocks) , which have tragically occurred since Early February 2023.

I have been reliably informed that the Number of Deaths could ultimately surpass Fifty Thousand (50,000) Innocent People - and I cannot even begin to imagine the Precise Number of the (additional) Non-Fatal (and Psychological) Injuries.

Whatever the Case : I hereby propose a Week-Long (7 Day) Period of Official Mourning throughout the European Union (EU) ; in Honour of those who Died in the Tragedy.

The Governments of Turkey and Syria have already called for Prolonged Periods of National Mourning , and , as far as I am concerned , both Countries fully deserve the Undiluted Solidarity of the Whole of Europe ; most especially when this is (probably) the Worst Series of Earthquakes to have (ever) happened in Transcontinental Europe , over the past Few Centuries (or so).

Finally : Please do kindly permit me to (warmly) wish a (very) Speedy Recovery to all of the Wounded Survivors ; while also (fervently) praying that each of the (Inconsolable) Families (and Friends) of the Deceased will (ultimately) find (more than) enough Inner Strength (and Spiritual Fortitude) to bravely struggle with their (Irreparable) Personal Loss (es).
