Micromachining, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (libs), fluorescence lifetime, and Raman spectroscopy are some of the common applications of UV laser diodes.

Sheffield researchers will investigate utilizing an entirely different way to monolithically integrate microscale laser diodes (LDs) and high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) on a single chip, where each LD is electrically powered by individual HEMTs, as part of this worldwide research cooperation.

In December 2020, Ushio Inc. announced the addition of a new 04 nm laser diode to its violet light product portfolio. This product is intended to be used in direct imaging exposure systems, biomedical applications, and 3D printing.
