BPM-X now supports the import and export of Microsoft Visio® 2013 new VSDX format for integration with tools such as ARIS®, ProVision® or IBM Rational® System Architect.

Microsoft introduced with the tool Visio® 2013 a new file format (.vsdx) that replaces the old Visio® binary file format (.vsd) and Visio® XML Drawing file format (.vdx). The Visio® 2013 file format is now based upon the standard Open Packaging Conventions. The Visio® 2013 file format is directly supported by Visio® Services for publishing with Microsoft SharePoint® Server 2013. The smart integration features of the BPM-X converter tool allows to import and export diagrams and models from all leading EA and BPM tools as ARIS®, ProVision® or IBM Rational® System Architect or many others like the testing suite HP ALM (QualityCenter®). Using BPM-X converter the model data can be loaded directly into Visio® or SharePoint®.

BPM-X now supports a bi-directional integration of Microsoft Visio 2013 to read and write the new Visio 2013 (.vsdx) file format.
Using BPM-X tools allows organizations to integrate Visio® with tools such as: Software AG ARIS® Business Architect, OpenText ProVision®, IBM Rational® System Architect or many other: Enterprise Architecture (EA), Business Process Analysis (BPA) or Business Process Management Systems (BPMS). Now, business analysts or architects can facilitate the import of existing diagrams and mass import legacy Visio diagrams into their leading repository. The import is done by a BPM-X Analyzer for Visio tool that reads existing Visio diagrams and generates a configuration that can be fine-tuned for a mapping of a legacy diagram like Flowchart into BPMN or EPC.
Because of BPM-X sophisticated export capabilities to natively write the new Visio (.vsdx) format, Visio drawings can be created based on models and diagrams coming from tools like ARIS, ProVision, System Architect or many others. This allows organizations, system integrators or consulting firms to publish their work into the famous Visio format to share models and diagrams with business lines or customers.
By using a rules engine BPM-X has developed an add-on Designer for Visio 2013. Designer enables Visio 2013 to accomplish real modeling following the leading standards of the aforementioned tools: ARIS®, ProVision® or IBm Rational® System Architect. This allows organizations to use Designer for Visio® 2013 to map business processes while being compliant and compatible with the modeling languages of the leading tools and seamlessly accomplish bi-directional exchange of Visio diagrams with a central process or enterprise architecture repository.
