MaxDistro Presents: Funk n Future Festival Celebrates Black History Month with a Celebration of Funk Music and Technology
Durham, NC and Hartford, CT - MaxDistro is proud to announce the Funk n Future Festival, a one-day event celebrating the legacy of funk music and its historical ties to technology and Afrofuturism. The festival will take place on February 26th in Durham, NC and Hartford, CT, as well as in the Metaverse.
The event will feature performances from Zack Roberson, ToNY CaMM, Nappy Head Funk Army, The Funk Allstars, and Aisymmetry. In addition to passing along the legacy and art of funk to a new generation, a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Aisymmetry Youth Group of Durham, whose mission is to help students realize the value of essential STEEM skills through robotic coding, game design, and design thinking sessions.
Three unique ways to experience the event are offered: in-person, televised worldwide, and virtual in the Metaverse. General access tickets are available for purchase, with options for virtual or in-person attendance in Durham and Hartford. Adult tickets are priced at $39.99, while children's tickets (K-8th grade) are priced at $10.
For those looking for a more immersive experience, the "Funk n Future Futurteer Package" is available for $199 and includes a Super Fan Futureer NFT, access to a comprehensive NFT and wallet course, premium access to the Metaverse VIP lounge, and a 20% discount on all future events. The "Groovateer Experience Package" is also available for $299 and includes a 30-minute session with performers, the opportunity for inclusion in documentaries and streaming worldwide, and a priceless experience.
Early bird registration for the event ends on February 1st, 2023 at noon and includes automatic slots saved on the NFT mint list. The venues for the event are the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham and Semilla Cafe in Hartford. The Metaverse experience will be curated by Black Women of Metaverse: NiKole Maxwell - Metaverse Goddess, Luxury Worldbuilder and Top 25 Woman of the Metaverse - Artsy in VR and Funkadelic Futurist Hanifah Walidah along with the Grant Godmother - Ira Revels.
