(Pasadena, CA)—Get started on holiday shopping early or just buy a new fall wardrobe. Please join Hillsides Guild for SHOP FOR A CAUSE, Macy's community shopping day which benefits foster care children living at Hillsides. This Macy’s event takes place on Saturday, October 13, during regular business hours.

Here's how to get in on the fun. Make a $5 donation, which is totally tax deductible, to Hillsides Guild. Donors will receive a ticket that enables them to pre-shop two weeks prior to the event and save 10-20 percent on practically everything in the store. One hundred percent of all ticket sales go directly to Hillsides, a Pasadena charity founded in 1913 that creates safe places for children in foster care living in its residential treatment center and is a community treatment center preventing the cycle of abuse for children at risk and their families.

What happens if I can't attend the event on Saturday, October 13?
No problem. Macy's will hold your pre-sale purchases for up to two weeks after the event.

Can I shop at any Macy's?
Yes, this is a national event; however, these tickets have a bar code specific to the western part of the United States. Those who purchase tickets will be able to use them in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico. You can save 10-20 percent in every store; however, Hillsides will only receive a percentage of sales from the Lake Avenue or Paseo locations in Pasadena, California.

Can I sell tickets to family and friends who do not live in Pasadena, California?
Absolutely! One hundred percent of ticket sales benefit Hillsides, even if your friends shop at another Macy's location.

What does Hillsides do with the money they receive?
All donations are used by the Hillsides Guild to plan outings, picnics, birthdays and holiday celebrations for the foster care children living at Hillsides.
