PLM ROAD MAP™ 2007, a strategic conference focused on the critical trade-offs shaping product development, is hosted by Collaborative Products Development Associates, LLC in Detroit. At PLM Road Map™ 2007 end users will have their current thinking on product development challenged in a series of highly charged presentations from a group of keynote speakers, coming from various organisations including universities, mayor companies like General Motors or Whirlpool, well-known analysts and Siemens UGS PLM Software and PTC among software vendors. Perspectix sponsorship of the conference is part of their expansion strategy to the US. Customer Hamilton Robotics, worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of manual, semi-automated and robotic products for precision fluid measuring and laboratory automation, joined the event with a speech by Dr. Jörg Pochert, the company´s Director Pharma and Biotech, entitled „PLM-integrated Sales Engineering: Competitive Advantages from Reusing CAD and CRM data in Technical Sales”. He describes the internationally operating enterprises´ experiences in implementing and using P´X5 software suite, a powerful tool for product configuration as well as software integration for sales processes of industrial goods. After six month of project time the software automates the customer-specific configuration of micro laboratories in three size classes, with about 2500 possible versions, including price calculation. The integration to Pivotal CRM provides necessary customer data. About 60 users throughout Europe and further 40 in the US take advantage of the system in English, German, French and Italian languages, streamlining solution definition and sales proposals. By reusing the 3D data defined in PTCs Pro/E Wildfire CAD system, the P’X5 solution bridges the gaps between product development, product management and sales organisations all over the world,. The resulting optimization of business processes is already paying off: Higher sales numbers count.
