Solarmodules for the window? - Kickstarterproject "Fensterkraftwerk" / "Windows Power station" wants to realize this

Berlin, 30. of January 2023, the german Kickstarter project "Fensterkratwerk" plans to build a set of specific PV Modules optimized for the windowsill and the window reveals, an easy to use mounting kit and a micro-inverter to generate power from a formerly unused area.

It should be possible to mount the system without drilling holes and with little technical know-how.

Christian Richter, the project founder who has already founded other successful companies says: "With a 1m wide window in south direction, up to 100W can be generated, this leads to 90kWh worth of energy per year."

The power is fed directly into the home grid and is consumed by the local appliances. Many consumers like the fridge, internet router, chargers and so forth are running 24/7 and can be fed on sunny days by the window power station.

There are similar systems for balcony power generation, but not everyone has a balcony which faces a good direction. Or sometimes it is not allowed to use the balcony, due to regulations or because the landlord doesn't agree to it.

Prototypes are already installed and the generated power can be monitored via a smart power plug and an app.

Anyone can support the Project via Kickstarter project "Fensterkraftwerk" and can receive pledges which can be chosen of 40Wp to 300Wp editions for prices starting from 190€ - 630€.

The window powerstations should be deliverable by the end of april and around this time an online shop will be launched to officially sell the products online.
