Press release from: simufact engineering gmbh

Hamburg, Germany/Tokyo, Japan, June 12, 2014 – On May 15, 2014 Simufact Engineering has opened a Representative Office in Tokyo, Japan. With this step Simufact enlarges its business engagement as a provider of process simulation software for manufacturing industries in the Japanese market.

For seven years now Simufact maintains a close partnership to NTT Data Engineering Systems Corporation (NDES), a leading provider of CAD/CAM/CAE software in Japan. As a Channel Partner of Simufact, NDES has been responsible for the distribution and the technical support of the simulation software Simufact.forming in the Japanese market since 2007. ‘The cooperation with NDES is very successful’, says Stefan Zimmer, Director Channel Operations of Simufact. ‘NDES has been able to enlarge the user base for Simufact software up to more than 80 companies in Japan in the last few years. Thus, Japan is the strongest export market for Simufact products today.’
Simufact.forming covers a wide range of different forming processes in metal working and processing. In Japan most of the companies using Simufact simulation software come from the machinery and plant engineering sector, from the automotive industry, and supplying industries.

‘The significantly increased distribution of Simufact simulation software in Japan is no surprise. It is in line with the current success of simulation-based methods prior to the real manufacturing’, says Atsushi Kinoshita, President of NDES. ‘We expect the stronger presence of Simufact to have a positive impact on our sales activities. In addition, Simufact sets a strong signal to emphasize its engagement in Japan.’

As an interface between the Simufact headquarters in Hamburg and its Channel Partner NDES in Japan, the new Simufact Representative Office will primarily be responsible for administrative and coordinating tasks. Sales activities for the software line Simufact.forming and product-related services as training and first-level technical support (HelpDesk) remain at NDES’ responsibility.

‘Japan is a strategically important market for us; its highly sophisticated production provides a great potential to NDES and us for the distribution of our software’, says Michael Wohlmuth, Managing Director and CEO of Simufact. ‘The Japanese industry is strongly export-oriented and applies high quality standards to their products. Japan is an ideal market environment for our software products.’
The first employee in the Representative Office in Tokyo will be Shinobu Narita. ‘He is the perfect candidate since he brings commercial knowledge of the Japanese market, excellent industry contacts and a technical qualification’, Michael Wohlmuth points out.
