Wind River and Celunite Partner to Deliver Advanced Platform for Linux Mobile Handsets
Integrating Wind River Linux with Celunite's Mobile Linux Platform demonstrates commitment to the LiMo FoundationWind River and Celunite, developer of a next-generation mobile Linux software platform, announced a partnership to develop a mobile phone platform. By integrating the Celunite mobile Linux platform, mobile applications suite and development tools with Wind River's Linux kernel and development tools, the companies will reduce development costs and shorten delivery schedules for the mobile phone industry. Wind River and Celunite are both members of the LiMo Foundation.
Wind River Platform for Consumer Devices, Linux Edition, is the premier commercial-grade Linux development and deployment solution for mobile handsets, digital TV and consumer electronics manufacturers. In addition to a fully tested and validated distribution based on the latest Linux 2.6 kernel technology, Platform for Consumer Devices includes the Eclipse-based Wind River Workbench development suite. The Celunite Linux-based software platform includes a mobile applications suite, mobile middleware frameworks, a mobile-optimized Linux kernel and an open source-based software development environment.
