3D scan software RecFusion 1.3 improves mesh coloring and adds texture export

Munich, April 23, 2014. ImFusion GmbH has released version 1.3 of its 3D scanning software RecFusion which allows to interactively create 3D scans of objects in color using a depth sensor such as the Microsoft Kinect. New features in version 1.3 include improved mesh coloring giving scanned objects a more realistic appearance as well as the ability to export the mesh color as UV-texture. UV-texture export allows easier import of the colored mesh into 3rd-party modeling applications which do not directly support vertex-based color representations. In addition the scan reinitialization algorithm was improved enabling a more robust scan experience. Next to these major improvements several smaller usability and functionality updates such as more efficient storage for sequences are included in the new version.
