Investigating the potential and export value of chemicals is essential to choose the best country for marketing and investment. In these surveys, where each country supplies chemical and its value in dollar is determined. In this article, we briefly introduced products such as calcium chloride, gilsonite, hydrogen peroxide and their export value in some countries.
Introduction of calcium chloride
Calcium chloride is one of the most widely used chemicals in many industries such as oil and gas, drilling, deicing and food industries. This product, which is placed in the Inorganics category, is produced in different purities. In pharmaceutical and food industries, calcium chloride with a higher purity is used. On the other hand, industrial calcium chloride 78% can be used in various industries such as, drilling oil and gas, ice melt(deicing), water treatment, paint and detergent production.
It should be noted that sometimes calcium chloride can be used with wide range of purities, in specific industry for different purposes. To elaborate more on that, deicing industry can be a good example. In this industry, calcium chloride with purities higher than 90% is used for deicing at extremely low temperatures. While, CaCl2 with a purity of about 80% is used for wider temperature ranges and de-icing on the road surface. finally, calcium chloride of 87% is used for places where the temperature is not lower than -7 degrees Celsius.

Export value of calcium chloride
As the result, the amount exported calcium chloride can be categorized by purity range. Although, considering purity range is essential, in following we try to focus on existing potentials for calcium chloride in general. The total export value of calcium chloride in Malaysia is more than 96 million tons. Meanwhile, China is by far the first exporter to Malaysia by supplying more than 60% of this material, and India is the second-best supplier to this country with 33%.
Vietnam is another East Asian country with calcium chloride imports worth more than 70 million dollars. China is the largest exporter of calcium chloride to Vietnam, supplying more than 90% of this amount. It can almost be said that China is the largest supplier of CaCl2 for East Asian countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
On the other hand, due to its proximity to Russia, Kazakhstan supplies more than a third of its calcium chloride needs worth 5 million dollars from Russia.
The important point in choosing a country to buy and import calcium chloride is the proximity and shortness of the route because this substance strongly absorbs moisture. In some situations, even the use of moisture proof bags cannot prevent the absorption of moisture. Similarly, long sea routes due to high humidity can be a serious limitation for the quality of calcium chloride. Before accepting any order, exporters must check the risks and shipping conditions and must agree with the customer about the shipping responsibility.

Export value of gilsonite
Gilsonite is a widely used mineral in drilling, paint production, insulation and asphalt pavements. Many people consider gilsonite and neutral bitumen to be the same because of their similar use in asphalt production. While, it should be noted that these two minerals are different. Gilsonite is extracted from mines in the form of stone and is produced in the form of powder to be usable in many industries. The main mines of Gilsonite are located in America and Iran.
Egypt is one of the largest importers of Gilsonite with a total value of 205 million dollars. Greece's income from supplying part of Gilsonite needed by Egypt is more than 125 million dollars. Other countries that export this material to Egypt include Italy, Spain and Turkey, each of which accounts for about 25 million dollars of the export value.
Hydrogen peroxide
This product is also one of the export products with small profit margin. Russia supplies 70% of its hydrogen peroxide needs from Finland. Countries like Germany, Sweden and Belgium import a total of 30% of the hydrogen peroxide needed by Russia. This shows the potential of Russia to import from Iran due to the possibility of ground transportation and the shorter route compared to Belgium and Germany.
Examining the Iran export potential
By examining the amount of imports of various chemicals to Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkey, it is clear that these countries import most of their chemicals from countries such as China, Russia, Ukraine, Thailand, and even European and African countries such as Belgium, Spain and Germany and Kenya. Meanwhile, Iran can provide products with higher quality and lower prices. In addition, in terms of shipping costs, choosing Iran as an importer can be more economical for many countries.
For example, Turkey supplies 70% of its aluminum oxide from West Europe, 45% of its potassium nitrate and 30% of its phosphates from China. India buys 50% of its imported Soda Ash from Western Europe and imports 22% Calcium Phosphate and 30% Phosphoric Acid from Morocco.
From these statistics, it can be concluded that the export potential to neighboring and nearby countries should not be ignored. It is clearly seen that the market of many countries is saturated by sellers from other continents, while countries like Iran can be a potential competitor for them. To enter these markets, increasing quality and speed of supply, reducing logistics costs, can be key factors.
