Netmagic Launches India’s First Software Defined Storage Service

Mumbai, Feb 27, 2014: Netmagic, an NTT Communications company and India’s only Datacenter Infrastructure Lifecycle Management (DILM) service provider, today announced the launch of Netmagic Tiered Secure Storage (NTSS), India’s first Storage-as-a-Service that provides metered IOPS for customers' mission-critical applications. NTSS is a customized multi-platform software-defined storage offering available to public cloud customers as well as customers with single-tenant environments such as dedicated servers or private clouds. Software-defined storage allows offloading the computationally heavy aspects of storage-management-related functions enabling higher amount of CPU power availability within the cloud.

NTSS offers QoS by guaranteeing Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) at the application level with total tenant isolation. IOPS is a common performance measurement used to benchmark storage and application performance and is an important factor when it comes to running critical applications.

By offering guaranteed IOPS across several tiers, NTSS ensures that applications get the performance they need while maintaining complete end-to-end security.

Customers have the flexibility to choose from as many as 12 IOPS slabs starting from 50 IOPS up to 6000 IOPS and storage capacities starting from as little as 100 GB. Customers also have the choice to deploy the service across platforms – be it SimpliCloud (Netmagic's public cloud service) or customers’ own private cloud.

NTSS offers customer a pay-as-you-go tariff model where there are no CAPEX costs involved. Customers can also provision storage instances with the highest available IOPS at the minimum storage slab. These features will allow customers to provision high IOPS storage for small to medium workloads at 1/50th the cost of dedicated storage.

Pricing And Availability

The Netmagic Tiered Secure Storage (NTSS) is available starting today. The per GB per month cost starts from Rs. 8 varies according to the IOPS slabs and volume of storage customers choose.
