The long wait is almost over. Marlton Golf Course & Country Club will be open to the public soon. The golf course has been closed since 2019 for renovations, but now the contractors are doing the final touches. As the carts line up for their arrival, avid golfers should get ready for action.
Popularly known as The Marlton, this 18-hole golf course occupies 168 acres of serene and beautiful wooded surroundings. Its breathtaking view was designed by Ault-Clark and Associates. The Marlton Golf Course & Country Club sits just 45 minutes from Baltimore and only 20 minutes from Washington, DC.
The land on which the golf course sits was originally owned by the then-renowned Clagett-Hill family. In 1890, the family built the Clagett-Hill Tobacco Barn on it, and it remained under their ownership until 1960.
In the mid-1960s, two speculative developers, Orville and Mark Ritchie acquired the entire area, including the Clagett-Hill Tobacco Barn. Their vision was to convert the area into a settlement, which opened in 1966. Two years later, they converted the barn to a golf course with equipment storage and offices. Today, Henry Turner, Vann Jones, Willie Blakeney, and Jimmy Garvin own the golf course.
"Marlton Country Club is an extremely historic place to visit. I can't wait for them to reopen soon," says a golfer who used to play here before it was closed.
The Marlton is a top-class entertainment and sports venue featuring world-class amenities such as an amphitheater, a five-star restaurant, a pro shop, a beverage cart, a snack bar, and a cutting-edge driving range, among others.
"The Marlton has an 18-hole course that is really fun. Love the place!" says another golf enthusiast eagerly waiting for the reopening of this golf course.
There are four large sound stages in this club that can be used for recording and live streaming. It also boasts other features such as a health and wellness center, hiking and walking trails, a spa, a cigar lounge, a separate parking area, and tight tree-lined fairways. The club's driving range offers grass tees and matted stations. Players can buy the range balls from the pro shop, choosing large or small baskets.
Marlton Golf Club's fairways are difficult to conquer, even for veteran players. They require the greatest accuracy, making this spot a popular club for golf lovers.

Marlton Golf Course & Country Club has a replete clubhouse with a well-stocked golf shop, a dining area with food service, and an outdoor pavilion and patio with stunning views of the front nine. Marlton is a challenge that is certain to have golfers coming back time and time again since it requires accuracy to navigate the narrow, tree-lined fairways.
The Marlton Community in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is home to the Marlton Golf Club. It is a par-71 course with a length that ranges from 4600 yards (forward tees) to 6200 yards (back tees). The club was the first public course in Prince George's County to have bent grass fairways and greens.
