Credit Cards 101 Launches New Website

Credit Cards 101 announced the launch of its newly redesigned website this week after many months of planning and consumer research. The site, which offers detailed information about credit card offers and other related financial topics of interest, is an expansion of website’s prior offering; previously, the company only sought to provide consumers with a public forum to post information relevant to their experiences with certain credit card programs or the banks that issued the cards.

“We saw a growing need for a place where customers could share their experiences with one another, as well as find information about how to actually apply for the credit cards referenced,” explains Aaron Blumenthal, the principal architect of the website’s latest redesign. “Before the website’s latest retooling, the domain was just a place where consumers could post the details of their own personal experiences as they related to specific credit card programs. The idea was to help other consumers who were considering the same offer determine whether or not the card was right for them.”

The new site presents the data collected from consumer experiences in an aggregate format along with a listing of a credit card’s “vital statistics,” such as introductory annual percentage rates (APR), annual fees, reward programs, and so on. The new design also incorporates a new feature which will direct consumers to the application landing page associated with the credit card of their choice.

“What’s really unique about our system is the fact that feedback comes directly from customers who have applied and successfully obtained the cards beforehand. This means the information presented is completely unbiased and free from corporate influence, so our customers know that what we present genuinely comes from individuals who have applied for the card in the past.”
