For this reason, the plants must be kept between 68 and 70 degrees to maintain the health of the plant. In parts of the country that have considerably lower temperatures, a great deal of heating is required to maintain the proper temperature and avoid having to ship plants in from other parts of the country.

However, for those that are forced to ship plants in are also paying higher prices due to the increase in transportation costs also because of the price of fuel.

What is the result of the impact of the increased expense on wholesale distributors? While many of the plants will still be available, they will more than likely carry a larger price tag. Also, quality plants may be more difficult to find as some growers will try to cut costs at the expense of their plants.
