From tower buildings to complete residential quarters, wood – the traditional building material – is more popular than ever and is taking over urban space as the building material of the 21st century.
The architecture forum “holzhochdrei3” examines trends in contemporary building with timber. Six international timber construction experts present their award-winning and trend-setting projects.
Featured are not only top-standard urban residential buildings by C.F. Møller Architects (of Copenhagen) and by Rossi Prodi Associati (of Florence), but the entire spectrum of contemporary wooden construction – with projects ranging from auditoriums (Deubzer König + Rimmel) to corporate architecture (Shigeru Ban/Blumer Lehmann and Ziegert Roswag Seiler) and to churches (Sauerbruch Hutton).
