Erbe Group to acquire the Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH
An investment to strengthen our role as a solutions provider in the area of imaging-guided therapy.
With this acquisition we are following our path towards being a holistic solutions provider in the area of interventional endoscopy. Maxer Endoscopy, recently re-named the Erbe Vision GmbH, was the first step in a pursuit now strengthened by the acquisition of the Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT). This will enhance our Erbe Vision portfolio in the new medical imaging business segment.
A perfect match with excellent growth prospects
The Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT) looks back on excellent and profitable performance in minimally invasive surgery. The future prospects of the core business are very good and further sales opportunities for the company lie ahead in the areas of rod lens endoscopes and video scopes.
"With the acquisition of the Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT) we are strengthening our portfolio in the field of visualization in endoscopy with future-proof technologies such as chip-on-tip and 3D-4K optics," says Marcus Felstead, Chief Commercial Officer. "We will also benefit from a strong and loyal OEM customer base for the high-quality rod lens portfolio and will continue growing this customer segment through strong investments in development and production," he adds.
Our vision
The medical technology of the future will change. What are currently employed as stand-alone devices will be combined with Erbe innovations to provide intelligent solutions to the customer. The combination of electrosurgery and imaging will generate added value achieved by processing and combining data using AI. This will lead to new treatment options and enhance patient safety.
About the Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT)
The Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT) is an OEM manufacturer of medical endoscopes and visualization devices for minimally invasive and surgical applications. Located in Sexau near Freiburg, the Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT) was founded in 1991. Its proximity to the city of Freiburg will be an advantage in terms of R&D collaboration. It has about 90 employees who all embody the same culture, vision and strategy. They have a very strong technological foundation and cover the entire value chain in-house. The Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH (BMT) is known for its highly reputable rigid and angled 2D endoscopes. They have proven their ability to develop groundbreaking solutions in the field of endoscopy with highly innovative video scopes including 3D imaging.
