Local college students put knowledge of the macabre to business use with Costumefind.com
Pittsburgh, PA—September 1, 2007— Two local California University of Pennsylvania Students, Ethan Turon, 21 and Emily Amato, 22, are taking their experience of scaring people to a whole new level. Ethan and Emily have designed and run the Hundred Acres Manor haunted house in Bethel Park for 4 years and saw a gap in the market of providing affordable but quality Halloween props and costumes, so they decided to open an online costume and prop store called CostumeFind.com.Using their experience of what people love about Halloween, America’s second biggest holiday in terms of dollars spent on decorations and equipment, they went in search of great costumes (the site stocks over 11,000), brought together a team of website designers and programmers and worked long hours to put the site together. Even though they have no business experience they arranged funding and advertising and are ready to launch the site on September 1st, just in time for the Halloween costume season.
According to Ethan and Emily, “We are really excited to bring costumefind.com to life. We feel like we are living a dream we thought we could never make reality. We have worked really hard to get the store open, and commit to working even harder to bring our customers the best they deserve!” Emily says, “Everyone talks about opening an online business based on something the love. CostumeFind was founded over a carton of cookies and cream ice cream, a pizza, and change we saved for tolls. We are just two best friends, making each others’ dreams come true!” Ethan says, “This is what I know, it’s what I excel in. I am committed to making CostumeFind the best in the business.”
The store can be found at www.costumefind.com.
Although costumefind.com originated with Halloween roots, the site will be open all year, selling costumes and accessories, including party supplies and bridal supplies.
