Gleistein Ropes takes it to the MAX at METS 2013
Streamlined portfolio of high-end solutions for the yacht and super yacht marketBremen, 12 November 2013
When Gleistein Ropes takes to this year’s METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) it not only will present its recently streamlined product portfolio and all-new GeoYacht catalogue but also showcase a range of new and improved solutions for the recreational marine market. Visitors will have their first chance to see Gleistein’s revolutionary creep-free ropes made with Dyneema® Max Technology: DynaOne® HS MAX and DynaOne® MAX represent a true alternative to steel wire ropes for static rigging applications such as shrouds and stays. Also on show will be the completely overhauled MegaTwin Vectran featuring greater strength and TaperTwin now with even more flexibility. Both ropes have also been optimised for better spliceability. Furthermore, Gleistein announces the introduction of Dyneema® SK99 to its line-up – enabling greater strength per millimetre of diameter to be attained for specialised applications. Open exclusively for trade visitors, METS 2013 runs 19-21 November 2013 in Amsterdam. The Gleistein Ropes booth is located in Hall 1, Stand 226.
When the international marine leisure industry converges on Amsterdam later this month at this year’s METS, Gleistein Ropes sets to the stage with a wide range of new and enhanced highlights for the yacht and super yacht markets.
Gleistein presents the creep-free revolution with Dyneema® Max Technology
The extensive research and development has paid dividends – Dyneema® Max Technology now enables the manufacture of creep-free HPME textile ropes. Gleistein Ropes implements this revolutionary new fibre in the all-new heat set DynaOne® HS MAX and regular DynaOne® MAX ropes, which can be easily recognised by their fire-red ID yarn. Their creep-free attributes make these ropes a fully-fledged substitute for steel wire in static applications such as shrouds and stays – while having just a fraction of the weight. Gleistein also offers the incorporation of Dyneema® MAX Technology for MegaTwin Dyneema® HS, MegaTwin Dyneema® and TaperTwin products, on request. As a technology partner of DSM-Dyneema, Gleistein Ropes has been a part of this development right from the very start.
Old favourites with new capabilities: MegaTwin Vectran and TaperTwin
Gleistein does not rest on its laurels. That’s why we constantly review – and improve – our ropes. The construction of MegaTwin Vectran has been completely revised to provide extra strength without an increase in size. Meanwhile, TaperTwin now boasts greater handling ease through added flexibility. Both ropes have also been enhanced to optimise spliceability to ensure the end terminations do the ropes justice. TaperTwin can also be optionally delivered in a creep-free TaperTwin MAX version incorporating Dyneema® Max Technology.
Enhanced performance for individual needs: Dyneema® SK99
For when every bit of performance counts, Gleistein also offers ropes made with Dyneema® SK99. The fibre provides more strength per millimetre of diameter while retaining all the other formidable characteristics of the regular SK78 fibre Gleistein employs. That means SK99 enables smaller diameter ropes to be used without compromising strength – perfect for deployment on running rigging in economically dimensioned masts, for example. Gleistein can deliver all ropes usually made with SK78, in SK99 quality, upon request. Talk to our experts at METS for detailed information.
Streamlined range, faster product delivery and new GeoYacht product catalogue
Clear, concise and clever. That’s how the brand new GeoYacht catalogue for 2014 presents itself. Each rope has been reviewed and reassessed for inclusion in a streamlined product line-up. What’s more, besides various product enhancements, rope availability is now included in the product overview. This not only ensures that our customers are better in the know, on a practical level it also means significantly improved availability and therefore faster delivery times for all popular ropes. The 2014 Gleistein Ropes GeoYacht catalogue is available hot off the press at METS. Make sure you drop by at the booth to pick up your copy.
These and further solutions for the yacht and super yacht markets will be on show at the Gleistein Ropes METS booth located in Hall 1, Stand 226. METS 2013 runs 19-21 November in Amsterdam.
