Disk Space Manager TreeSize v6: Faster, More Intuitive, and More Flexible

Trier-based company JAM Software releases version 6 of world-renowned Software TreeSize Professional.

The optimized version 6 of the famous disk space manager TreeSize comes with big improvements: Scans - e.g. for occupied disk space, single files, or duplicate data - run up to five times faster. The trier-based company JAM Software has used the new release to improve their most popular software. JAM Software’s products are used by 80 percent of the top 100 international companies.

"In TreeSize version 6 we optimized existing applications and added many new features. The TreeSize Search profits from improved search options. Queries can now be formulated even more precisely. The integrated preview facilitates easy filter creation and management. Once set, filters can be applied to or excluded from single scans, e.g. the duplicate file search. TreeSize 6 recognizes placeholders and complex patterns (regular expressions).

TreeSize enables users to monitor the development of disk space usage over longer periods of time. Images of allocated disk space at a certain point in time ("snapshots") are compared to older versions. Since Windows creates those snapshots automatically in regular intervals, users can access information on disk space usage stored before the installation of TreeSize. "The snapshot comparison is a unique feature of our disk space manager", states Joachim Marder.

Another improvement: the revised HTML export. TreeSize presents an expandable tree view of scan results in any standard browser.

The newly designed user interface in the well-known Microsoft Ribbon look ensures ease of use.

The biggest improvement works in the background: On local NTFS drives, TreeSize utilizes the Master File Table (MFT) containing metadata on all files. This way, TreeSize gains lightning-fast access to information on the size of single files - scans can be completed up to five times faster than in preceding versions.

TreeSize Professional is also available as a 64-Bit version - system memory will never pose a restriction, not even on the largest server systems.
