Crowd sourced learning hub extends to the workplace

09-25-2013 03:32 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: mylearningworx

mylearningworx today announces a new version of the UK’s first crowd sourced hub for online learning. In addition to a look and feel designed by user experience experts and host of new features, the new ‘mylearningworx for organisations’ also goes live for the first time.

The new look mylearningworx has been created thanks to feedback from the thousands of learners who have signed up during its first year. In addition to an enhanced learner experience, it includes new features that drive collaboration, make authoring even easier and let users set up and join MOOCs.

‘mylearningworx for organisations’ is an integrated application within the mylearningworx hub, providing engaging learning experiences in the workplace. It lets learners access hundreds of courses, create their own content and collaborate on their learning requirements, without unnecessary exposure to administration functions they do not need.
Instead they can focus on utilising thousands of different types of content including videos, elearning courses, PDFs, presentations and assessments, all within an environment that has been personalised for the needs of the individual organisation.

Martin Belton, managing director of mylearningworx, explains, ‘Our aim is to provide a different approach to online learning. We crowd source content then share it with the world, and we’re keen for workplace learning to get in on the action.’

He continues, ‘mylearningworx for organisations was designed from the outset to enable learning professionals to better engage with their audience. As such, it is rooted more in consumer-led software rather than traditional corporate systems. It’s easy to use and encourages learners to engage with what they’re doing through collaborative features, the ability to create and share their own content and take part in MOOC style courses with their colleagues and peers. We’re providing organisations with some new and exciting opportunities that are breaking the mould in workplace learning and development.’

‘mylearningworx for organisations’ is designed for any size of company and all budgets, no matter how small. Its pricing works on the basis of predicted usage, keeping costs low, particularly for smaller organisations. It can also be personalised to suit an organisation’s brand and generates useful reports on learners’ progress.

The new mylearningworx is now live and welcoming new users. The team is also hosting a free webinar exploring learner engagement today at 11.00am BST. To register for a free place on the session email support@mylearningworx.com.

mylearningworx is the UK’s first ‘crowd-sourced content’ learning centre. As a UK company, it focuses on offering courses that are relevant to a UK audience. That includes learning to help people at work or just to get more out of life. The mylearningworx team believes anyone can write and deliver powerful online learning to the world. And through mylearningworx people can reach out and share knowledge and skills with thousands of others for both home and business use, for everybody’s benefit.
