For the First Time, a Medical Student Publishes an Insider's Medical School Admissions Guide

New York Native, Alexa M. Mieses, announces the release of her debut book, The Heartbeat of Success: A Med Student’s Guide to Med School Admissions, just in time to kick off the new school year. This is the first time a medical student has written a book about medical school admissions. Ms. Mieses wrote the book as a participant of a book writing challenge sponsored by Small Business Camp and Mentoring in Medicine, Inc.

“The Heartbeat of Success” pays special attention to high school, undergraduate or post-baccalaureate students who may be the first in their family to pursue medicine; it covers everything from choosing an undergraduate major, to submitting an application to beginning the first year of medical school. As a current medical student, Alexa M. Mieses knows exactly what it takes to get into medical school.
