(Nashua, NH) – As the number of new drugs developed and approved for injection increases, the injectable device infrastructure continues to make strides in addressing the migrating needs of drug developers. Essentially a niche market just a few years ago, the number of syringes and injectors that are designed to be marketed as prefilled products has increased dramatically, and will become the most prevalent injectable product category by 2017.

In the area of prefillable plastic syringes, six separate device suppliers now offer a total of eight distinct branded devices, an increase from only three five years ago.
