New media site on Israeli innovations reaches digg home page on first day of launch

israelplug, a new media site that launched this past Thursday with the goal of becoming a premium source for information on innovations coming out of Israel, achieved digg stardom almost immediately when it reached digg's home page Thursday evening. As a result, over 25,000 people visited the israelplug site within 24 hours of launch, providing an invaluable boost to the fledgling site.

israelplug (israelplug.com) is an illuminea project (www.illuminea.com) and will be updated on a daily basis with information on Israeli innovations and achievements in the fields of business, technology, social entrepreneurship, culture and the arts.

Miriam explains that the goal of the israelplug site is to use Web 2.0 and social media tools to promote Israeli innovation.
