Global Incentive Council Issues European and Canadian Incentive Trends Papers

Press release from: Global Incentive Council

The recent global recession generated many challenges as business organizations struggled to find ways to survive. One unforeseen result is increased interest in recognition and rewards to promote the employee engagement that evolved into a key ingredient for economic survival.

Interest in this emerging global phenomenon, prompted The Global Incentive Council to partner with both the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) Europe and IMA-Canada to produce two papers analyzing these new trends. Recognition and Incentives in Europe and Incentives and Recognition in Canada both draw on interviews with incentive experts from their respective regions of the globe to discern current issues and best practices.

The IMA Europe white paper offers unique insight into market forces, cultural differences, award types, taxation and legislative requirements along with a discussion of best practices that underscores the challenges of dealing with the 45 countries, 23 languages and 27 currencies embedded in the rich tapestry of Europe.

The IMA-Canada executive paper provides a summary of expert observations about the geographic realities, language and culture, supplier availability and tax considerations of dealing with a population equivalent in size to the state of California that sprawls across a landmass larger than the entire U.S. and covers six time zones.

“Our goal in commissioning these papers was to provide information about the current state of incentive industry practices in the two regions so that both incentive practitioners and the companies they serve are better prepared to conduct business in these growing incentive marketplaces,” said Ron Benegbi, President of IMA-Canada.
